Singapore to Kathmandu

Originally, our destination was India, but after a month of phone calls, emails and tweets, Melisa did not have an Indian Visa. The Indian consulate in San Francisco contracts with a company called CKGS to process visa applications, and after 3 weeks they returned my passport, but not Melisa's. In fact, I think they lost it because they can't tell me anything about it, besides "it's in process". So we are going to Nepal instead. If your are wondering how Melisa is traveling without her passport, we had second passports made before we left.

The original itinerary had us staying a full day in Bangkok, and I was planning on traveling all the way into the city, then taking a Red Eye to Mumbai the next night. Instead, the Kathmandu flight departs in the morning, so we just slept at an airport hotel and returned in the morning to the airport. Still adjusting to Asia time awake at 5:00am again.

At the airport, we ate breakfast in the lounge.

Watched planes out the window.

A nice perk of flying Thai Business Class is a complimentary massage at the Royal Orchad Spa. I had the choice of feet or neck and shoulders: I chose the upper body.

To get to the plane, we took a bus from our gate.

Good plane spotting on the way.

And up the stairs.

  1. No hot glass/cup massage to leave nasty marks on your back?
